I have had Machu Pichu on my TOP 10 list of places to experience first-hand since I made it during my college years. I am a huge Mike Peters/ALARM fan & followed his LOVE HOPE STRENGTH trek up Mount Everest daily last year. When they mentioned the possibility of making Machu Pichu one of the destinations of their next benefit concerts I just knew I had to be a part of it!
My mother has been breast cancer-free for 25 years and one of my best friends went thru a stemcell transplant for her leukemia last summer and has been cancer-free over 6 months now! But my Grandmother died of breast-to-bone cancer in the early 80’s and a woman I considered my second mother for most of my childhood died of colon cancer only 8 years ago. They are also a big part of why I want to make this trek and bring more attention to this cause. I really believe music can be one of the best healing therapies available to everyone in the world and I want to help more people find out how to tap into it as a natural resource for whatever is ailing them.
I also believe meeting people from other cultures and getting to see how they live is one way we can live more peacefully with everyone and I’ve enjoyed travelling around the United States, Canada & Europe so far, but I still need passport stamps for my other TOP 10 destinations: Egypt, Israel, Australia, Tahiti, Russia, Scandinavia & Japan. I am hoping to come back from Peru with more than just photos and stories about the history there. I want to come back with a wealth of wisdom from everyone I meet & those I share my story with, too.
