Colleen grew up in Colorado and is a Rocky Mountains girl through and through. She realized this when she moved away to San Francisco and experience a home sickness from the spirituality of the mountains so unbearable that she had to return “home”.
Colleen attended Colorado State University and received her B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Environmental Engineering. She currently works as a business consultant for an international consulting firm.
Colleen’s passions include an active social life, traveling, skiing/boarding, camping, fundraising, and volunteering. She recently traveled to Mexico to assist a local organization with animal clinics. There she assisted with free spay/neuter clinics while educating the Mexican population about humane animal treatment, care and responsibility. Colleen discovered LHSF through friends involved in the Everest climb. After seeing first hand the magnitude at which the organization can make a difference across the world, she felt compelled to join the cause.
Colleen’s philosophy in life is to always expand her self out side of her perceived boundaries. One of Colleen’s greatest achievements is climbing through the Patagonian Andes. This trip taught her that there is nothing a person can’t do if she puts her mind to it. She is very excited to return to South America and climb for such a worthy cause and can’t wait for the next challenges and lessons along the way.
