Brien is front man with Australia’s hottest Rockin/Swing outfit, “The Retro Rockets” where he sings and plays guitar. 2008 will see the 5th CD release from the band, with all songs being written and arranged by Brien. His career has also seen him tour Australia and New Zealand with most of Australia’s top rockers including national icons Angry Andreson(Rose Tattoo) and Country music legend Slim Dusty. Brien also teaches music and music industry to the young rockers of the future in his hometown of Newcastle, at Callaghan College.

Help Brien raise money for the LOVE HOPE STRENGTH FOUNDATION Peru Rocks Concert
Newcastle’s very own Retro Rocker, Brien McVernon has been invited to participate at The Love Hope Strength Foundation charity climb and concert…Peru Rocks! On October 8th, 2008, one hundred devoted cancer survivors, musicians and supporters will arrive in Peru for a 10 day journey up the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu followed by a concert celebration in Lima, The City of Kings.
To help Brien raise money for the foundation and his airfare, Musos Corner is proud to host a Gretsch Night for Brien and his Gretsch friends on Wednesday, May 28th at 7pm at Musos Corner. The night promises to be a rockin’ affair, with Briens band the Retro Rockets playing + some other very special guests.
The night will also be an opportunity for you to score some ABSOLUTELY ONE OFF PRICES OF ALL GRETSCH GUITARS INSTOCK.
More special guests will be named soon, so come along, bring your Gretsch and hang out with some other Gretsch cats whilst listening to some cool tunes and supporting such an important cause.
Tickets are $20 and all door proceeds go directly to Brien and The Love Hope Strength Foundation.
