LHSF Mission

Peru Rocks is the latest concert from the Love Hope Strength Foundation. 65 musicians, cancer survivors and supporters are setting out upon a 4 day trek along the Inca Trail in the Andes. The musical journey symbolizes the “Climb Back from Cancer (TM)” of millions of survivors around the globe, and celebrates the lives of those we lost. We will end our journey in the inca Ruins of Machu Picchu where we will celebrate the power of Love, Hope and Strength. The mission is to raise money and awareness for cancer care in Peru. We will be working in conjunction with ALINEN to purchase lifesaving equipment for INEN, the main cancer center in Peru. We will also be moving forward with plans to set up a Love Hope Strength chapter in Peru in order to continue a national plan to educate and raise awareness of cancer and promote early detection. More about Love Hope Strength:
In 2006, a Sony music executive pointed out to Leukemia survivor James Chippendale, president of the one of the worlds leading entertainment insurance agencies, that musicians had never come together on a global level to do something about one of the worlds leading killers. Everyone in the world is being touched by cancer, which kills more people than AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria combined. James, along with 2-time leukemia survivor and world renowned musician, Mike Peters has set out to change just that.

Love Hope Strength is now one of the fastest growing cancer foundations in the world. Having performed concerts on 5 continents in just 1 years time, we are providing critical funding and awareness for cancer centers worldwide. The mission is to save lives, right now, with the advances that have already been made in cancer care. We are traveling the globe to remote venues such as Base Camp of Mt. Everest, the top of the Empire State Building, and the Inca ruins of Machu Picchu. We are reaching out through the universal language of music to purchase life saving equipment, spread awareness, promote early detection, and register people to the international marrow database so that people, like James Chippendale himself, can find the match that will save their lives.

Joining the Love Hope Strength Army in the battle against cancer are musicians from every corner of the globe. From high school bands and Nepalese folk singers, to legends in rock and roll such as members of The Cult, The Stray Cats, Gin Blossoms, Chuck Berry, The Fixx, Tokyo Police Club, Squeeze, Candlebox, Seether, Smithereens, Dick Dale, Everclear and hundreds more have done their part to help spread the word through music. LHS has become a staple at international music festivals like, Bonnaroo, Mile High Music Fest and The Gathering where they have begun registering people to the national marrow registry right on site.

Its now your turn to answer the call.
