PERU ROCKS will be the charity concert event of a lifetime! Due to government regulations few musicians have ever had the honor of performing in Peru. Peru Rocks is a 10-day musical journey and charity event benefiting cancer centers in Peru. 100 musicians, mountaineers and cancer survivors will travel to Lima, “The City of Kings,” for a visit to the country’s main cancer center to meet the very children and adults our journey will support. They will carry on to Cusco to begin a 4-day trek in the Andes where they will jam by day and night under the very stars that once guided the Spanish conquistadors some 550 years ago. They will pass through the “Sun Gate” into the Ancient City of Machu Picchu where they will be greeted by government officials and local children adorned in traditional garb celebrating their arrival. Here, they will perform a symbolic acoustic set for the 2,000 daily visitors of this ancient city. That evening they enter the town of Aguas Calientes for a city celebration in the center plaza under the watchful eye of Pachacutec, the Inca leader known as the “World Transformer”. They conclude the journey back in the City of Kings with a massive concert production on the Peruvian “Green Coast” where no other band has ever played before. It will be a journey of legendary proportions and musical firsts to bring cancer awareness, screening and treatment to a well deserving nation.

October is cancer awareness month in Peru and Peru Rocks will bring more awareness and raise more funds for the people of Peru than any other single event in the country’s history. Each participant will make a minimum donation of $5,000 to the Love Hope Strength Foundation to be part of this epic adventure. As with past events, the entire journey will be documented by a production team lead by Alex Coletti (MTV Unplugged). Daily podcasts, journals and pictures will be available online at www.perurocks.org and iTunes for the world to watch.

About Love Hope Strength
Cancer is one of the world’s most powerful killers and will touch each and every one of us in our lifetime. It knows no borders and sees no race, religion, age or socio-economic demographic. It’s a global issue in need of support from a worldwide foundation.
Love Hope Strength (LHS) is an international charity with chapters in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and South America. LHS was Co-Founded by two-time cancer survivor Mike Peters of the Welsh rock band, The Alarm, and leukemia survivor and President of CSI Entertainment, James Chippendale. The goal? Providing all cancer patients with the same healing opportunities that they had; including access to information, quality cancer treatment and the best medication available.
Through innovative, music related, outreach and awareness programs such as Everest Rocks* and Peru Rocks, LHS provides critical funding for cancer centers worldwide, so that ALL people have access to quality treatment and are given the best chance at survival. Specifically, we supply much needed testing and treatment equipment to cancer centers around the world. Our most recent trek and concert on Mount Everest funded the first mammography and internal radiation machines in Nepal. Past and future events include:

*Everest Rocks broke the Guinness Book of World Records for the highest gig ever performed on land. 5 million people logged on to www.everestrocks.com to watch our daily videos and read our journals. Additionally, our musicians had the incredible opportunity to be the first western artists ever to perform in the temple filled Durbar Square in Kathmandu, to a crowd of 15,000 Nepalese fans, and a live televised audience throughout Asia. Total global media impressions from this one event topped 575,000,000. The entire event has been turned into a 2-hour documentary airing this spring on the MTV/VH1 networks
